Agent Of The Month: Renee Goodman

Specialties:

Though I have been selling real estate for over 8 years, I have been in Property Management, in some form or another, for over 10 years.  It is a wonderful feeling to know that you have helped someone find a temporary home in this transitional period in their life.   It is a blessing to meet new people and follow their lives and see their families grow.  Though there are some that are fleeting relationships, mostly I have interaction with tenants few times a month and it is definitely not unusual to have a past tenant request to stay in another home I represent.

I would have to say the best part of my job is to help someone find their perfect home.  The home that has “you” written ALLLLLL over it.  But you can’t imagine how awesome it is to see a tenant who has struggled with past credit issues or has drug themselves up from a personal disaster and has blossomed into a homeowner.  Just seeing their pride alone makes me jump up and start each day running.

I hope that you will consider my homes in your rental search.  My supply is ever changing so check with me often.  I would love to meet you.  Call or text today at 770-550-2414.

Agent of the Month:

As a Realtor, I understand that your selection of a real estate professional is a very critical decision that involves many questions such as; is this person qualified to guide me through the home buying and/or selling process? Will he/she listen to MY wants and needs? Will I get good service from this person? Will this person consider my time as a valuable asset not to be wasted or dealt with lightly?

I started in the Real Estate business as the office manager and property manager for McLeRoy Realty Associates, Inc. My being so deeply involved with each agent’s transactions, I quickly learned the business from the inside out and found that I love every aspect of the home selling/buying process.

I have committed myself to helping other people with their individual needs. Some of my most valuable tools are listening, staying in constant communication with all parties, giving you direction and paying particular attention to details. My mission is to treat you as a personal friend, not just a client.  I will focus all of my energy, time, and enthusiasm towards earning your loyalty. I pride myself in preserving your privacy, arming you with the knowledge needed so there are no surprises at the closing table, and I dedicate myself to guiding you through the frustration and anxiety of the home buying or selling process. As a professional, my goals are to stay up on all the recent education classes, get involved with community service, hold myself to a higher code of ethics, and put you, the client, first. When it comes time to handle your biggest investment, let me guide you through the rat race, let me be your GUARDIAN AGENT.  Call me today and ask me about how I can help you.

Meghan Ford

Hello, my name is Meghan Ford and I am a brand new agent with McLeRoy Realty. I received my license in late June of this year and have been working with McLeRoy since then. I am the eldest of six children, was raised in the Hampton area and am now living with my grandmother, Gena Ford, in the Griffin area. This is a real blessing to me because she is a recently retired real estate broker who worked in the business for over thirty years. While I am new to real estate, I have an edge on many other new agents in that I have her wisdom, along with all of the wonderful and intelligent people that I work with at McLeRoy Realty, to guide me in my pursuit of excellence.

McLeRoy agents were featured in The Pike County Journal Reporter this week for collecting Toys for Tots at our location, 8945 Us Hwy 19 in Zebulon.  Please check out the link below to read the whole story. We are still accepting donations until December 12th. Please come in and drop off your donations. Let’s give the less fornuate children in our community a great Christmas.

Specialty

I obtained my license in July 1999 which means I am going into my 13th year as a REALTOR.  As a REALTOR you can earn different designations in our field of expertise.  In March of 2007 I earned my ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) Designation.  I did this by successfully completing a comprehensive course in buyer representation and an elective course focusing on a buyer representation specialty, both in addition to submitting documentation verifying professional experience.  This documentation consisted of contracts that were prepared by myself and actually had gone to the closing table.  They ranged over several years of experience and were examined by the NAR (National Association of REALTORS).  Every “I” had to be dotted and every “T” had to be crossed.  To complete a comprehensive course in itself was a big accomplishment for me because even though I know the material, I am the type that you say the word “TEST”….I freak!  Then to have your paperwork examined by the NAR is a bit nerve wracking however I did and I use my designation with pride.

The two most valuable pieces of information I took from this comprehensive course are: a.) LISTEN (really listen) to what the buyer has to say and b). it’s OK to say “NEXT” when you realize things are not going to jive between you and a buyer and/or a seller.  By listening to your buyer you will learn what’s important to them when purchasing. I still have buyers tell me that they quit working with another agent because they kept trying to put them in a home that was above their budget or not in the setting they asked.  Also, if you come across someone that you know it isn’t going to work well between the two of you…do not feel as though you “have to” work with them.  Why put more stress” into your life when it’s best to just say N-E-X-T?  A big “THANK YOU” goes to my ABR instructor, Sylvia Shellnut, for that piece of advice!

Real estate is a completely different market than it has been.  You have to stay abreast of the changing market however one thing hasn’t changed…buyers needing REALTORS.  I LOVE my profession and I LOVE my clients.

About Me…

Hello, my name is Alicia Gibson aka “Cita” by family members, co-workers and those who are close to me.  I was given that name by my daughter-in-law, Jessica.  They use to call me Mommacita and when she came into the family she decided to “shorten it” and it stuck.  I am married to the “love of my life” Wayne Gibson and this upcoming Valentine’s Day will be our 27th year anniversary.  Together we have 2 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws, 3 grandsons & 1 granddaughter.  Wayne and I are active members of Mountain View Baptist Church in Thomaston and have been for 20+ years.  Even though I am proud of my church, I think it is more important to seek a “relationship with Jesus Christ” rather than the “religion of church”.

I have been a REALTOR since 1999 which means I am going into my 13th year.  I feel it is very important to keep abreast of the changing times in the market and attend as many classes and conferences as possible.  I obtained my Accredited Buyer Representative Designation (ABR) in March 2007.  I feel as though this gives me an edge over others when it comes to proper representation of buyer clients.

Since coming on board McLeRoy Realty Associates my broker, Tricia Gwyn, has urged me to become involved more with our Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors aka H.O.G. Board and our local Chamber of Commerce.  I am currently chairman of Public Relations with H.O.G. and was recently elected to serve as State Director for 2012-2014.  I am currently serving as a Pike County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat for 2011.

Real estate isn’t just a “job” for me – it’s a part of me which feeds my passion for my clients.  Thank you for taking the time to read this bio and when it comes to buying or selling, remember, “Always Alicia For Real Estate!”
